However landlords should have been allowed to designate certain rooms for smokers if they wish & have other rooms smoke free.

Aaaarrrggghhhh! That is one of the major points I have been making all along! Landlords and breweries have had this choice for many, many years and yet they chose not to. If the majority had been sensible and designated smoking and non-smoking rooms there may have been no need for legislation in the first place. But they didn't. They would not invest in the air filtration required. They were not interested in the long term benefits to everyone but only short term profits. And now it is not their fault, but the nanny governments? Pure fantasy and blame shifting by the licensed trade. They have no-one to blame but themselves.

I'll add my voice to those encouraging you to stop as well. I gave up more than 15 years ago and then, while working long term in Belgium where smoking seemed to be compulsory, I started again. Got back here and stopped again - 10 years ago or so.

Cheers
