Skipy smokes 100 cigarettes a day? Heavens!

I saw a very funny Horizon programme a few months ago, called We Love Cigarettes (if it's available online, say on Google Documentaries, which I can never find when I want it, maybe someone would post a link). Bill Nighy did the voiceover.

One of the great scenes was a doc talking about cholesterol as he cut into the arteries of a smoker during a heart op. He carefully peeled out a long white candle-wax-like cylinder, which was the cholesterol in one of the smoker's arteries.

It's a personal choice if you want to smoke, drink to excess, eat yourself to death or drive dangerously - but only if it doesn't endanger others. I'm asthmatic, and feel that my father's 80-a-day habit when I was a baby and my mother's 40- to 60-a-day habit throughout my childhood must have contributed. They didn't want to harm me, of course.
