Kendall, there is now a big hole in your life, exactly the shape of your brother. At the moment, and for some time to come, the edges of that hole will be very raw and very painfull to touch.
As time goes by, they will start to scab over as they heal, but will still hurt and be liable to bleed and weep if touched too roughly.
As more time passes, the scabs will fall off and the edges of the hole will heal. That hole however, will remain and those edges will always be sensitive to over rough handling.
