Thread Name: Lyr Req: Forty Shades of Green (Johnny Cash)
Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: forty shades of green
Here's the second verse:
I wish that I could spend an hour At Dublin's churning surf I'd love to watch the farmers Drain the bogs and spade the turf To see again the thatching Of the straw the women glean I'd walk from Cork to Larne to see Their forty shades of green.
In the first verse, I believe it's "the folks at Skivareen"; also "and the Midlands and their forty ..."
I sing it in C. The chording is far easier.
"May the road rise to meet you, and the wind be always at your back."
