Well, it ain't over till it's over.
[not to mention the fact that, to my knowledge, no woman of large size has sung]

I admit that I cheated and used my friend Google to find this spiritual.

However, imo, there are at least two typos in this example.

AIN'T GOING TO TARRY HERE
Sweep it clean
Ain't going to tarry here

I sweep my house with the gospel room
Ain't going to tarry here

Sweep it clean
Ain't going to tarry here

Gong to open my mouth to the Lord
Ain't going to tarry here

O-o-o Lordy,
Ain't going to tarry here

'Cause he's digging down in the grave
Ain't going to tarry here

The big bell's tolling in Galilee
Ain't going to tarry here

O-o-o Lordy
Ain't going to tarry here

-snip-

I've never heard [or heard of] this spiritual. But it seems to me that "I sweep my house with the gospel room" is a misprint. "I sweep my house with the gospel broom" makes much more sense to me.

Also, speaking of typos, "gong" in the line "gong to open my mouth to the Lord" is obviously "going". But as to that phrase "open my mouth to the Lord"...well I've never heard that expression before.

Does anybody know this song, and if so is "broom" the correct word in that line?

And is "opening my mouth to the Lord" the right phrase [instead of something like "opening my mind" or "opening my heart" or "opening my eyes"?
