December 1944 - my first birthday and being given a present of a large doll puppet (Pinochio) by my cousin who was carried to my pram by her uncle Tony.My sisters used the head of the doll to make a Guy Fawkes in 1947.
My parents claimed I could not possibly remember this so if thats the case? i also remember the street party in 1945 when I was one and a half, to celebrate the end of the war and eating sponge cakes shaped like sail boats with rice paper sails
