Mel Brooks, born Melvin Kaminsky, not Sid Caesar, was the other Kaminsky. Caesar was said to be Sid's authentic surname. What a group "Your Show of Shows" gave to the world. Sid Caesar, Imogene Coca, Carl Reiner, Nanette Fabray and Howard Morris. Writers included Mel Brooks and Larry Gelbart (father of TV's "M.A.S.H.") among many others. With Danny Kaye's rubber face and body, he would probably have been a great fit in that show.
