downbeat, dreary songs

I'd have thought the OP would be well-acquainted with this sort of output given that her 'fave dishevelled duo' specialise in them.

Colorblind is quite downbeat. Angels & Fags generally upbeat, Rough Music both, the Liza'n'Nancy and Liza'n'Martin Green work sizzling. Nothing I've ever heard her do (and this is over close on 20 years, all told) has ever been dull. I've seen her working also with Billy Bragg, Chango Spasiuk, Kings of Calicutt, Värttinä, The Chipolatas, Joan Baez and a kazillion people I can't be arsed to list at the South Bank. Good grief, she's even sat near me in sessions, but then a lot of people can say she's joined in with them. Can you? Liza's generous and sharing with her music and a totally lovely person.

What she doesn't need is 'advice' on vocal choices from someone who's seen her once on the telly.
