Liz, there is a critter in the Pacific Northwest of the US called a banana slug. Once when we lived up there, I went bicycle riding with a group of friends, one of whom took great delight in swerving back and forth across the road mashing slugs. When we returned to our starting place, the bottom half of his bike was covered with bits of yellow yuck.
