I know how to compress recorded files (spoken recordings), but I've never compressed a CD track. I'd like to do that now and upload a couple of songs so people can hear them. Not my music (copyright protected stuff by others), but I'm not seeking to make a profit off of it. So it that legal? I've never followed the U.S. legislation on file sharing, but it's mentioned in the news every once in a while. Any advice?
