I vaguely recall this topic from some time back, but, since it's here again, I like the Corries, and I was very disappointed that when in Scotland I missed their performance by one day!
Now, that said, I have always thought that they drove the piss out of R of D, and I much prefer the version by Mary Black. Oh, yeah, I can hear the groans from here. I hear she's not too popular with the purists, but so what? I like her on that one song. Even a busted clock is right twice a day.
