Well, parents get to be like that when kids start making up their own minds and the image is not the one the parents had in mind when they thought they were the source of the younker's mindset. Of course, they never were. At best they help filter the experiences feeding it. But they fancy themselves the molders of young minds. And somehow the mold alweays breaks before it is set.
