Subject: RE: the wilsons down south
Ma Wilson is indeed much missed. I found myself trading rounds with her years ago at the Seven Stars in Shrewsbury, and ended up a very long way under the table.

The thing about the Wilsons is that they have never forgotten that folk music is supposed to be the people's music. Hence their enthusiasm for running singarounds anywhere that could conceivably host them (including locations where 'persuasion' has been necessary). They also value passion and committment over cleverness every time.

Their old club at the Collingwood was rightly a legend. They encouraged my tentative singing there twenty-seven years ago, and I've a lot to thank them for. Cheers, lads.
