My neighbor was out with his blower in his driveway this morning sweeping along all of these little dark dry nuggets on the drive.

"You know what all of this is, don't you?" he asked me.

"Caterpillar poop."

"Yup. I won't have to rake too many leaves this fall!"

The tree is a mulberry and is a colossal mess with webs over about 2/3 of it now. Huge tree, huge mess.
