In a rather famous "blooper" from the early days of TV, a contestant on one of the early game shows was asked what she did for a living. She replied, quite innocently:
"I'm a maid and I take care of a large family -- 2 boys, 3 girls, one adult and one adultress."

And when I was a child, I used to wonder why "wreckless driving" was considered a bad thing.
