My last name is Coward -- I took my husband's name when I married 30 years ago....(used to be Firth) in England Coward is not an unusual name at all (think Noel) but over here I am amazed by the number of people who comment on it - saying things like - what an awful name. My kids hated it when they were younger but I told them you could make fun of any name under the sun of you wanted to (viz -- oh - your last name is BROWN - oh how gross - brown is the color of poop.....etc etc......at least it made my kids smile.)

My business partner now is Deborah Meek so we are ---- Meek and Coward!!!!! Only a few cracks so far......
