1. Every living thing on Earth has a purpose; think before you shoot or spray.

2. Over-tidiness is almost as detrimental to the health of ecosystems as agribusiness or pollution (why do we over-tidy our countryside and strew our cities with litter?).

3. Being sentimental about other living things (especially trees) doesn't help. Knowledge and understanding is much more important to the health of the world than fuzzy sentimentality.
