Watched the video for Madonna's (per)version of "American Pie". Stunning imagery playing in the background. Loved it. But where was the soul in the performance? Madonna's voice sounded great, although I do believe heavily processed; but what on earth was she thinking? That she was a go-go girl? I was left with the impression that she had no idea whatsoever what the song was about. D minus!
