Sunday night there's a session, usually including some sean nos singing, at the Blackthorne Pub in Easton, Mass., starting about 5:30 p.m. It's about an hour's drive, maybe a bit longer, from Newport on Route 138. Tinker's Nest in Bristol or Warren, R.I., was having sessions on Monday nights. Probably best to call first, though it's worth stopping in for their seafood stuffies. It's about a half-hour's drive out of Newport on Route 114. Newport's home to Paul Geremia, a wonderful country blues player, and the Newport Blues Club comes highly recommended. There's usually some good jazz playing in at least one of the other clubs. There are a couple of good folk venues in Portsmouth and Tiverton, R.I. Tiger's giving you good advice on Atwater & Donnelly.
