My condolences, Lucy. My own dad just passed away this past Thursday, and, while his passing was neither unexpected nor really mourned, as he was well on in years and had been in poor health and on "hospice" status for over a year, it is still hard to accept that someone who has been such a part of your life for so long is no longer here with us "on this side."

As Sapper said,
"There is a bloody big hole in your life with VERY raw edges and for a long time to come, those edges will be VERY painful to touch.
As time passes, the edges will, up to a point, heal.
You will be able to touch them, but not too roughly.
But the hole will remain.
Fill it with your memories."
