Good to find this thread, as I have an Oktoberfest program to do soon and I wanted to add a song or two.

We used to sing this song, in (fractured) German when I was a kid at camp, but I had little idea what the words meant (except for words like "piano" and "violine"). In fact, though we were taught to sing "Ich kann spiele ... auf der piano," it usually came out
"Ick can speela ... after piano," etc.   I always thought it was "Musikanter," not "Musikante," too.

This is a good audience participation song for kids, or for some nursing home residents, too.
