Thread Name: Lyr ADD: Side by Side (Harry Woods)^^^
Subject: Lyr Add. SIDE BY SIDE
I don't know if there's a preliminary verse (intro), as was common back when this was written, or if there's another verse.   But I'd offer minor tweaking ('correction') of the lyrics, as per the original:

Oh, we ain't got a barrel of money,
Maybe we're ragged and funny;
But we travel along, singing a song,
Side by side.

Oh, we don't know what's coming tomorrow.
Maybe it's trouble and sorrow,
But we travel the road, sharing* our load,
Side by Side.

Through all kinds of weather,
What if the sky should fall?
Just as long as we're together,
It doesn't matter at all.

When they've all had their quarrels and parted,
We'll be the same as we started;
Just traveling along, singing a song,
Side by Side.

*Changing the lyrics to "singing" instead of "singin'" is not by way of correction. I'm actually not sure which way the original sheet music was written.

This song, by the way, an old Vaudeville song, has a really neat counterpoint duet part that uses the same lyrics but different phrasing and a kind of harmony tune.
