What is particularly interesting about books of this sort is that they actually include the music. The majority of 19th century popular song anthologies didn't. The songs themselves were well known in their time and texts are quite easily found, but here they appear in a more informative context, especially if, as the title suggests, they include accompaniments in the style of the day.
