Folks, That Oral Roberts "the hole kept healing up" line, plus the dog add on, was on my very first LP (1978) called "A. T.-- Outright Boldfaced Lies-Live At The Old Town School Of Folk Music". I used it to lead into "Old Blue." It really was ALL MINE in spite of others maybe telling it over the years. You might say it went into tradition. ;-)
