I have known girls wear the trousers stated as uniform for the boys. You wouldn't know that they were boys' trousers, they looked good, the girls were comfortable and happy in them and, of course, the school could not complain.

What needs to be avoided with this trouser issue is any anxiety for the girls and any feeling on their part that they are different in any way. They need trousers that fit in with school policy so that they are not getting hassled but they do need to be comfortable and I agree that sitting all day in synthetic fabrics is not always comfortable especially in certain types of weather.
