Thread Name: The Witches of Elswick - final dates
Subject: The Witches of Elswick - final dates
Well, the time has nearly come for the Witches to hang up our broomsticks for ever!! After 6 rather mad years of zooming round the UK festivals and clubs, we're finally calling it a day. It was easy to get about and rehearse when we all lived in the same flat and had little other responsibility, but families, husbands, proper jobs, mortgages and the distance between us geographically have made it increasingly difficult to get together over the last year or so...so we decided to quit while we're ahead and while we're still enjoying it rather than fizzle out.
We have just 8 gigs left together which includes our final Hallowe'en tour:

Then our final booked gig in maghull:
Saturday 10th November - Maghull Day of Music (plus various artists)
Then......it's PARTY TIME! Our final gig ever will be in the style of a celebratory party at The Cumberland Arms, Byker where we started out as young, innocent witchlets! Little did we know that that was the start of a six year, 2 album rollercoaster of tours and festivals......we just liked singing and somehow people started booking us! Anyway, the details of this final gig are:
Saturday 24th November - Final Farewell gig/party at
So come and help us hang up our broomsticks in style with fizzy plonk, songs and good cheer in the wonderful environment of The Cumberland Arms. Be there...it's your last chance EVER!!
We're still going to be singing together as Witchnotes (7-part a cappella with Grace Notes) and most of us will still perform under our various other guises, but for the Witches....that's all folks!
So, huge thanks to everyone who's supported us in one way or another...we've met some fantastic people over the years and we hope to see you somewhere soon.
Cheers, Becky, Bryony, Fay & Gillie The Witches of Elswick xxxx
