for those who have propane...LPG...it would still be adviseable to turn off the tank, I believe the problem comes when turning back on, to be sure of all pilot lights being correctly lit...

also we often advise folks to keep the electricity on, esp. if they
have a pump that requires electric to run. we usually try to use the home owner's water to fill our tanks if we are doing structure protection.

today i saw a plea for help evacuationg animals from a sanctuary/barn.
i wonder how they came out...i think this message was from tuesday morn. this was on the freecycle list..

If anyone can go and help Animal Acres evacuate animals from Gentle
Barn or if anyone can take in some animals in their back yards
(temporarily of course) PLEASE call Susie at 661-313-8040. We then
need lots and lots of people to help with the evacuated animals as
