I don't think he should be "killed off", but rehabilitated. Take a clue from "Clockwork Orange", and incarcerate him somewhere with a powerful sound system, on which are played for hour after hour [insert list of names], giving renditions of [delete as appropriate: The Wild Rover/Fields of Athenry/the full version of Tam Lin].

If you can't incarcerate him, just lock him up. The music treatment still applies. Open the door 3 years later.
