I made a "fine scale cuisine" discovery today--literally in my own back yard. I was over at the mall trying to get a plastic container with a lid large enough to brine a turkey but small enough to fit in my cooler of ice while it soaks. (I've never done this before, so advice is welcome!) Anyway, the size container I wanted was sold out, and I commented that I could swing by a restaurant supply place in the next town over. The clerk helping me said there was one in Fort Worth, and he named my freeway exit (I live about three blocks from the highway and that exit). I named the only likely business I knew at that corner, I thought it was a warehouse for grocery stores, but it turns out it is a restaurant supply warehouse and they have a cash and carry store out back. I stopped by and it is WONDERFUL! Also more reasonably priced than the other store. I found my container and also bought a jug of soy sauce (I'm almost out).
