Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Lunatic's Lullaby 'Oh, I was born one
My favorite kids' song. My sister learned it I believe at Camp Tall Trees, a Jewish summer camp near Otter Creek Park (Fort Knox Area), Kentucky in the early 60s and I learned it from her. I may have switched the order of verses or changed some words but here's how I remember it.

I'm up here in the nuthouse. My mind is in a rut
My keeper thinks I'm crazy But he's just off his nut.
I'm just as sane as you are And I can prove it too
So listen to my lullaby To prove I'm not coo-coo.

Oh I was born one night one morn When the whistles went boom boom
I can bake a steak or fry a cake When the mudpies are in bloom
I cannot tell a lie. I stole a pizza pie
It's in a tree beneath the sea Above the bright blue sky.

Oh loop de loop and noodle soup, Just give myself a shine
I'm guilty, judge. I stole the fudge. Three cheers for Auld Lang Syne
And six and six is nine, And ice comes from a mine
Old Black Joe the Eskimo In the good old summertime.

Oh Easter eggs and wash your legs And children can't have ducks
I'd rather have a lemon pie Than 47 bucks
Way down in Soscalonia They spit onto the flonia
But that is all balonia. Paderewski blown your horn toot toot!
