Cher turned out to be a superb actress when she took that job on...a far better actress, in my opinion, than she ever was a musical performer...although she has certainly been a quite competent musical performer. I really liked some of her early recordings. When she did a few Dylan songs in the 60's, she did them very well, I thought.

Her screen acting has been uniformly excellent in any movie I've seen her in.
