Many years ago I sang at a folk club in which the landlord, an Irishman, was wont to come in after the interval and give a song. On my occasion he sang 'The Wild Colonial Boy' to the tune of 'Ghost Riders'. I wish I could remember the place, but it was a long time ago.   I do remember the Burl Ives and Vaughn Monroe versions very well. I was sixteen when they came out and I thought it a great song. Pete Seeger played banjo on Burl Ives record I believe.
