Mom, I've been slaving over a hot oven this morning, making a double batch of my popular pumpkin bread. This time I had about a half-cup extra pumpkin so I tossed it in. "If a little is good, more is better" does work in this kind of cooking. I also soaked the raisins in brandy for several days so they're particularly flavorful, and put in half-again as many raisins and walnuts as the recipe calls for. I'll take a couple to work to curry favor with co-workers and pop the rest in the freezer as handy bricks loaves to give as forgotten impromptu gifts.
