When I was a child Christmas was not made a fuss of in Scotland. If you were religeous(even if you wern't) you went to a midnight mass or watchnight service on Christmas eve. Christmas day even had one postal delivery I lost count of the number of wee boys who tried out their trusty new sixshooter on my dad, he would always stager round and drop to the ground a la the best western fashion :).
