Subject: RE: BS: Have a lovely Christmas & Happy New Year
Christmas Eve is our night for a Polish Christmas. We had pickled herring on rye bread, mushroom and rice soup, and Polska kielbasa sausage. Oh, and I topped it off with a couple of bottles of Trader Joe's Winter Ale - it's a double bock this year, and it goes great with herring. I printed up a songbook of Polish Carols (PDF file), and now my wife and her 93-year-old mother are singing away in Polish. We'll all head off to Midnight Mass pretty soon. I hope the music goes well.

Gee, I'm glad I married into a Polish family. My wife's name is Slowick, which means nightingale. It's so lovely to hear her sing with her mother, although neither of them can carry a tune.

My sons come for dinner tomorrow, and we'll do it all over again.

Merry Christmas, everybody!!!
