Sonnet 21/12/07                        MLXVII

Without muse to guide dreams, I cannot find
The path to heart's desire: Hope is now lost.
Yet, should heart count all inspiration blind,
When memory remains, to show hope's cost?
I care now for past dreams, and words the thought
Of eyes and smile gave heart. Must I regret
Once holding dreams? Should I not have hope sought?
Does love for source of dream Nature upset?
Without word, I know not the fate of one
I held as heart's desire: Dare I request
You tell if you are happy? Would you shun
One who in past tried to give you his best?
Is there now reason that I should not care
About the muse who once her dreams would share?
