South African folk singer, actress, and human rights activist Miriam Makeba, small in stature, but a giant in the world of music and beyond. Among her many awards are the 1966 Grammy for Best Folk Recording (shared with Harry Belafonte, another giant) and the 1986 UN Dag Hammarskjold Peace Prize. At age 75 she is still performing.
