Shit usually lands fairly softly, but it depends, of course, on how far it has to fall first!

I too remember Phoebe Zeitgeist, having come across one of those books once. It was a ludicrous adult comic book sci-fi-fantasy story in which the heroine, the aforesaid Phoebe, kept falling, to her evident surprise, into one disastrous and bizarre situation after another, most of which involved her getting the bejeezus beaten out of her by someone (without any evident physical damage whatsoever...no bruises, no black eyes, not a scratch) while losing the last few remaining shreds of her clothing which in any case would not have covered a large postage stamp. Phoebe had the usual heroic dimensions of such heroines, which is to say that her breasts were probably larger individually than her head, and her thighs and buttocks of similar proportion.

Phoebe was really nothing more than an excuse for morons to indulge in sadistic fantasies of naked girls being pummeled as far as I could see.

It was gross and ridiculous. The violence, however, was of a sort which really couldn't be taken seriously, as it was too humorously stylized to seem anything like real violence. I have no idea why anyone would create such a character or such stories.
