BELLA HARDY is already turning ripples of excitement into waves of delight with not one but two nominations in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for 2008. She is nominated in the Horizon Award category for up and coming acts as well as having her song 'Three Black Feathers' nominated as Best Original Song. She hails from a little valley called Edale in Derbyshire's Peak District, an area rich with the tradition of communal song. Playing the fiddle from an early age she went to a Folkworks Youth Summer School aged 13 and realised that there were lots of very cool people her age playing folk music. 'The Pack' was formed and an album released in2003. At university she spent 3 years singing with trio 'Ola' and in 2004 she entered the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards as a solo artist. She got through the semis as an unaccompanied singer and went into the finals as a fiddle singer. Earlier this year her debut album 'Nightvisiting' was released and this month she finds herself on the cover of fRoots magazine.

Chris Sherburn is a working-class Yorkshireman reared on folk music. His parents ran the local folk club, and an old beat up two-row concertina floating round the house drew the five year old lad's attention. He has been gigging since the age of fourteen and is now the lynchpin of those stalwarts of the folk scene 'Last Night's Fun'. Taplas Magazine claim that "Chris plays concertina as though he was born with one in his hands"
