Hi Don,

You might call these times "The Age of Starbucks."
I try to avoid those unfriendly, all-business,
move-the-customers-through-as-quickly-as-possible
places. Instead I go to the
small independent coffee houses (not hard to find
in Seattle, you are never more than a block away
from a coffee house here).
Still it can be a bit disconcerting playing music
in a coffee house to a half-dozen or more patrons
whose faces are glued to their lap top computers,
and are probably annoyed by the musical distraction.
But there are certainly some around here that are
friendly, comfortable places in which to relax,
have a cup of coffee and snack, and listen to some
good live music.
