Mary, it is quite simple, I ate them
A To remove temptation from your vicinity so they would not interfere wuith your efforts at dieting
B and as a preventative measure to prevent them going bad.
I therefore see my actions as both a Humanitarian issue (helping a friend with their will power, or in this case "Won't" power) and as a Humane destruction of potentially dangerous material.
Also, you will notice , I left you some Lindt Chocolates on the table in the round tin (in case you are overcome with desire..... for chocolate)
