Like everyone I was sorry to read of Mike's death which I in the Selby Times. Some friends took me, reluctantly, to Selby Folk club in the early 70s and from his openning set I became hooked on folk music. When I bought my first proper guitar I got hime to 'test' it out - I wish I could reproduce his sounds on it! If Mike knew I was going to a local folk club he would often cadge a lift as he didn't drive. But then as the way of things times change but I was glad when I heard that he had moved to Whitby (were I saw him once) and became involved in Folk Week.
