Heheh..when I was at school I was taught that the spelling of Irish was designed to disguise its pronunciation, and so it proved!

Of course English spelling is also just as easy
According to GB Shaw, you can spell Fish "GHOTI" - GH = F, as in rough, O=I as in Women, and TI = sh, as in station...

Dáithí = "Dah-hee" (emphasis on first syllable)is near enough - the accent over the vowels makes them long, and the "th" is just an aspirate ("h").
