What Pete didn't say about the song is that he developed his arrangement based on the
accompaniment that was done for John Charles Thomas, a populr classical baritone in the 20's and 30's.

This was the basis for my arrangement of the song which I taught to Karla Bonoff but
was actually recorded by James Taylor who might have done something else with it.
But Karla learned her arrangement from me and I learned it from Pete but changed it.

This is the folk process they keep talking about.
