Thread Name: Songs about breakups, breaking up
Subject: RE: What do you say/play when it's over?
For many years Gordon Lightfoot's "If You Could Read My Mind" was my theme song; I always found myself saying, "I don't know where we went wrong but the feelin's gone and I just can't get it back." Then I got married and realized that "the feeling" was only a small part of what it was about, that you had to choose to love and continually make that commitment -- more like Kate Wolf's "Give Yourself to Love." Now at the end of the marriage I can see that I was half right -- the love and commitment have to flow in both directions. But I'm all right now, and I can sing any song I want. And so can you. Be good to yourself, find your own strength, and life will flow to you. As far as songs, I'd go with kat's advice, also Gordon Bok, and basically anything that makes you feel GOOD.

Aloha,
Mark
