No, we can blame you for Thatcherpiginthetrough. Your school of economics.

I have also just watched a debate about current UK plans to increase scrutiny of possible extraordinary rendition overflights.

If we had flown secret flights over the US - I suspect the answer would have been "Boom Boom". Ming Campbell was a tad more cirumspect in his analysis. He is alas another example of a thinking leader of a political party who succumbed to "the judgement of the public" (compare remarks here about "folk") - in a way which makes me fear that we are heading both in the US and the UK for the government of the stupid, by the stupid, for the stupid.

Rambling slightly - in the same way that Ming Campbell was judged not on policies and judgment (where he was excellent) but on image and soundbite (where he was less modern) I fear that although the next president of the USA will be a democrat (in name) he will be Barack Obama who is already in thrall to the oligopoly, and who will be elected because of personality politics not rational judgment.

What I was working up to - the US is worldwide reaping the whirlwind of things like extraordinary rendition. You can blame us in the UK for not shooting the Fokkers down.

Sneck up. (that is Yorkshire vernacular although I am not from there. An American might say - if not embarrased at who he might be quoting - "bring it on"). We know we are right, and so, in your hearts (Oh shit was that the Barry Goldwater electoral slogan?) do you.
