I use an 8 Gig Sansa which cost $40 less than the Nano of the same size and HAS a radio. It charges right off the USB port of a computer and can last a couple of days of constant use.

The iPOD is a bit cuter and has a slightly better interface. Bought one for my niece.

One thing I don't know if was an issue for the original folks on this thread: when you download to an iPOD, you typically can't get the music back, the SANSA regards the music as just something in portable memory, so you can recover it and move it onto something else if you desire.
