I've had instances of tendenitis in the past which were alleviated by a two week course of a strong anti-inflammatory called "feldene" which in the US needs to be prescribed. I believe it is related to aspirin but different. I had no side effects and was able to discontinue use, but I've been on it about four times in twenty years.
