First album was The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem; I didn't buy it, it was bought for me by Father O'Hanlon the parish priest, who probably thought there wasn't enough Irish influence in our house at the time. First one I bought myself was either the eponymous 'Joan Baez', or Bookends by Simon and Garfunkel. First proper folk album was probably Oldham's Burning Sands by the Oldham Tinkers. I bought this off Gerry Kearns, who's Dad was a friend of my Dad.
