Thread Name: Obit: Guitarist Jimmy Faulkner, Dublin(March 2008)
Subject: RE: Obit: Guitarist Jimmy Faulkner.
I never worked with Jimmy, but have met him on many occasions over the years, and we've spoken, laughed and swapped yarns on many's the occasion.

Jimmy was simply a great guy and superb musician. He effortlessly embraced and mastered many diverse styles and added the master's touch to countless fine studio productions. He even successfully tackled that Django Reinhardt Gypsy Swing style with the wonderful 'Hotfoot' back in the '80s.

What a great little combo they were, and I'll never forget those smoky, Guinnessy nights in the Baggot with Jimmy's powerful, mused playing ringing through the rafters!

In my opinion Jimmy Faulkner was more that just a nice guy and great guitarist who will be sadly missed. He was a major talent.
